User research. ux/ui design. Entrepreneurship.

We are fortunate to have a garden in our home in Salt Lake City, Utah and we noticed that people usually have extra produce from their garden, and it is often wasted if it can’t be consumed in time. People were already sharing, but there was no dedicated platform to facilitate that process. After a few months in Doman Innovation Studio and working closely with the University of Utah developer intern team, we created Cultivate MVP.

Cultivate, is an online farmer’s market where anyone can share or sell their gardening-related products in the neighborhood. Launching in April, 2025!

User-centered research

I conducted several interviews with the gardeners around Salt Lake and Utah Vally to understand their motivations (why they garden) and what matters to them.

Wireframing & prototyping

The first round of figma wireframing - it was proven too ambitious for the MVP. After user and expert research, we focus on just building and testing the core feature.

Users can create what they have and what they want. The system will run through database everyday and notify the user if there’s a match.
